MUNTJAC

Hunting of Muntjacs can only be done in England, which makes this hunting very special.

The Muntjac is the smallest deer species, but still one of the more interesting deer to be hunted. Muntjacs are always on the move and rarely seldom stand still, which makes hunting of this deer very exciting.

The Muntjac is also called "the barking deer", because of the typical barking voice they do. Most of the hunters will experience this. You will easily be able to see if it is a male or female; the male has antlers and tusks sticking out of the mouth. They are used in fights against other Muntjac bucks.

You will find Muntjac from the woods and it rarely comes out in the open areas. The best way to shoot this small deer is to wait for it to show up. You don´t have to be silent, but this way the deer often sees You before You see it. Remember that you will hunt mainly in woods.

The Muntjac can be hunted year a round but the fall, winter and spring times are prefered, because hunting of Muntjac in the wintertime you can also combine it with the hunting of Chinese Water deer on the same estate. Shoot prices are from the longest spike.
